Hello. My name is Judy. . I recently purchased the echo dot. I tried the messaging feature, but I am having a little problem with it, and was wondering if you may help me figure it out. I have been looking for an answer trying to figure it out, and have yet found an answer. My daughter and I were messaging on it a few nights back using voice. My daughter received all my messages ok and was able to respond back. When I would receive her reply, I would ask Alexa to play message, and it would reply there were no new messages and would I like it to play previous ones, and it would play the previous ones and then then current one would be at the end of the list.. It would not play the new message until all the previous ones had played. My daughter said she did not have that problem. If I am not sitting right by the echo when the message comes in and immediately say play message when she sends one to me, it says no new messages.. So, if I go out of room and come back within a 30 seconds or so, and I see a message waiting, it will not play the message as a current one.. It adds it to previous messages. I am wondering if you could possibly tell me what I may be doing wrong or what I need to do in order for it to play the current message when it comes in without having to listen to all the previous messages first? I saw where you can go in and delete previous messages, but it is not recommended because they claim it can give you less performance in the long run because it needs your voice on the cloud in order for Alexa to better understand your sound and can respond better.. Also, I may not always have my phone handy to delete each message after it is read..Any help would be greatly appreciated..
