Are you invoking your skill first? Can you ensure it has testing enabled? Maybe check what your device can hear using the alexa companion app to see if your invocation name is being heard correctly?
i am able to invoke the skill in the device. But the device is not able to respond for the intent request "itemsearch". i have attached the code above.
And you have confirmed that this is working in the service simulator? Can you elaborate with the device not being able to respond? Does Alexa say 'there was a problem with your skills response', or is Alexa saying the wrong thing? Any more information would be great. If you can confirm that it is working in the simulator, it should really be working on your device too.
Hm, try appending several "Itemsearch" intents in the simulator (if that is possible?), to check whether the same problem will be there as well..?
i mean to say i am able to invoke the skill in the device but the issue is only appearing with certain intents. I doubt something wrong with the sessionAttributes.
Ya , The skill is working perfect in the simulator. while calling the intent Alexa responding like "there was a problem with requested skill response".But by the same time the correct speech response is appearing in the simulator.
Can anyone please help!!!
Maybe something in your launch request is causing issues. Try this:
It's worth trying the exact utterances you said that caused the crash on the device.
If it can, I'd suggest copying over the request and configuring a new test event in your lambda to see if you can find the issue. If you can't, it might be worth simplifying some of that code as there is quite a bit. Still, try the above and report back. Could just be a null pointer somewhere.
Hi Jamie, I have given the input as input 'open' invocation name in the simulator and it's hitting the launch request as well. And i could tell that for all the utterances the same response only am getting here("there was a problem with requested skill response".) from the device. I have tried to configuring a new test event in my lambda, but the same result I'm getting.(It's working fine in simulator but not in the device.! )
No one has followed this question yet.
Is it possible to publish a skill just to a set of audience so it’s possible to publish proprietary skills for an enterprise?
There was a problem with the requested skill's response when using Alexa Simulator but works with Manual JSON
