I'm trying to build an app with mixed native/web components for amazon firetv.
My problem is that while it works perfectly fine for every other (non-amazon) device i tested on the DownloadListener just doesn't work on the FireTV. I even tried to use the AmazonWebView (with both setDownloadListener and setDownloadDelegate), which results in the same behavior of them not getting called at all.
Yes, i have set a custom WebViewClient which overrides shouldOverrideUrlLoading and returns false.
Now I'm somehow feeling that there's either a bug in the webview implementation or amazon disabled the download callbacks on purpose.
Either way i couldn't find any documentation regarding this topic and would really appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction.
Edit: meanwhile i did some more testing and found out that the downloadlistener is working just fine for other filetypes, so the only culprit was that i'm trying to build a developer tool that allows to download apk files. So i can now make my question more precise:
Did Amazon block the DownloadListener callbacks specifically for links that point to APK files?
