I work for an audiobooks company, and we recently submitted our skill to for certification. Unfortunately it was denied, and this was one of the two reasons:
1. “We believe your content is better suited for publication on our eBooks/Audible stores. Please submit your content at Audiobook Creation Exchange (ACX) and/or Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP).”
We provide full length, mass market commmercial audiobooks to our paying members. As the books already have major publishers, we obviously cannot submit them to ACX. We're just looking to add a popular platform for our customers to be able to listen to their previously purchased audiobooks.
I'm confused by the rejection. Are we to assume that only Audible is allowed to play audiobooks through Alexa?
If anyone from Amazon could shed some light, it would be greatly appreciated.
Also if anyone from the community has encountered similar problems, I'd love to hear anything you may have to share. I did find another individual with the same rejection in the forums, but there was no follow up.
