when will I be able to talk to alexa in dutch?

Hi,

I trust alexa will be made available in other spoken languages as well. So it will be able to understand and talk dutch for example (my native language). Any idea or approximation when?

without the top-10 EU languages I cannot take the product seriously. I would love to see Dutch support even though my son is now learning English at an incredible pace ;-)

Is there really nothing you can say like:

- We plan on expanding the language support but I can't say when - Extra language support is not planned

Unfortunately not. This is consistent across Amazon regarding future plans.

Dutch support has to be high prio. Philips HUE a Dutch product is evolving and Google is 75% ready on the Dutch language support on the Google home. The Netherlands is in high innovation mode and with 70% of all people using high speed WiFi and 35% using smarthome device you cant ignore them.

Hi, now I bought some Sonos One Speakers with Alexa build in. But..... I can't use them at the Netherlands, because:
1.Sonos is thinking Dutch people can't speak English

2.Sonos is waiting on Amazon to support the Sonos Speakers in other countries (at least thats what they are saying)

3. Amazon still doesn't support Dutch on their Alexa products..... WHY?

When can I use my Sonos speakers with Alexa (I don't mind if it's in English at first).

Let's do some math. 17M people in NL. Take Siri usage as example. 1M iPhones in NL and 3% of iPhone users use Siri. So the effort to get Siri to speak Dutch was done for 30K users. Even if Alexa is *way* more successful in NL, would it be worth it for Amazon to support Dutch for say, 100K users? Where's the economic incentive? I think lots of 'smaller' languages will never be justifiable on those terms...

Fast forwarding two years...still nothing about Alexa understanding more languages amongst which Dutch :-( Big house, eight dot's meanwhile but still stuck to English (or German if we wanted)...
