In the firetv stick 2nd gen, we now occasionally see invitations to connect which can be very annoying for our customers. We didn't have this problem with the first gen fire tv stick. The invitations to connect should not be displayed unless display mirroring is already enabled on the stick. Also there seems to be inconsistent behavior. Currently if you
1) boot the firetv stick 2nd gen
2) go to wifi on an android phone (i have a galaxy S7) go to settingss/wifi, click wifi direct, you will see the firetv stick 2nd gen as a device to connect to. If you click connect , then a prompt comes up on the screen asking if you approve.(do not approve)
3) Now go into display settings/ enable display mirroring on the firetv 2nd gen stick. wait a few seconds then exit display mirroring mode.
4) Now try the same test as #2 above. Notice this time and for the duration of the firetv stick being powered up, if you do the test #2 you will not see the invitation to connect on the firestick.
It seems that an ideal solution would be to disable the dialog showing the invitation to connect unless display mirroring is enabled (or at least make this a setting that the user can control). It is not realistic for people in apt buildings etc where there are many users in close proximity of each other to be able to interupt the firetv experience by issuing unsolicited invites from their phones that show up on unsuspecting peoples firetvs.
Please let me know if i have missed a setting that enables the requested behavior. Also I would be happy to beta test any builds to confirm this has been fixed.
