Hello,
When comparing an Amazon Echo show to a Google nest hub there are a few standout features the nest hub does better than the echo show when it comes to use as a photo frame.
Example Portrait Photo Nest Hub
- The ability to display side-by-side portrait photos. In a world where people are increasingly taking portrait photos on their smartphones it makes up a majority of most image libraries for typical end users as opposed to landscape photos. Right now the echo show has unsightly black bars to the left and right of portrait photos, leaving wasted space.
- Image capture date is displayed as caption in small font below the photo. This is a great feature to allow one to recall when the photo being displayed was taken. Whether it’s to see how old your child was in the photo or what year you went on vacation.
- The ability to change speed/duration of the slideshow background. Yes, it is possible to do this with the photo slideshow on the echo show, but you need to start the slideshow command, which may need to be restarted after it times out. Also when sharing an album group with a family member, photo slideshow isn’t even an option.
Please, if developers for the Echo Show could include these three features (or at least the first one), I think it would be so beneficial when using the echo show as a photo frame.
I am not sure if this was the proper channel for this post. Moderators, please feel free to move to the appropriate space.
Thanks
