As parents and grandparents, we would love to see an Alexa 'courtesy' mode or option for ourselves and our children. While Alexa is fairly efficient, it ignores many aspects of polite speech and also ignores the fact it could help teach children and others good speaking habits.
For example, allow us to toggle options that would require users to use "Please", "Thank You", or other courteous forms of speech in order for Alexa to respond or take action. Alexa could be an incredible parental aid if it would allow parents to help train their children in common courtesy, by using an electronic device. There could also be options for Alexa to respond courteously to requests or to remind the user to include "Please", for example, in order to complete the desired request.
Thank you for considering our suggestion, it might just soften the world a little bit.
