Recently opened a Merchant account and uploaded my first design. It is an all-digital portrait of Martin Luther King Jr. I used a Getty Images photo for reference, but the art is 100% original, no filters. Along with the portrait I included the phrase, "Why are we still here?"
I then uploaded a second design which is a variation on the first. The second design says, "No black and white."
Amazon rejected both designs, citing copyright violation. I contacted them seeking clarity on the source of copyright infringement but only received a generic email listing myriad possibilities, none of which illuminated me.
Question: Is it possible that my reference photo is the issue? Since the photo was royalty free, I thought this would be fine.
Is it the words in my design?
Or is the "brand" name or description more likely at fault?
Any insights from more experienced users would be appreciated. Thank you.
