This is not a question. This is a suggestion to the development team at Amazon.
Often my address and location is difficult to find even when marked on google maps. On food delivery apps like Swiggy and Zomato, they show the live location of the delivery boy as and when he leaves the restaurant. This helps me to notice if he is coming in the right direction or not. If he takes the wrong direction, I call him up the same moment and help him with the right direction, hence a faster delivery.
At Amazon, you don't only need a faster delivery but also a better delivery rate. What Amazon can do is the delivery boy can select the package which he is going to deliver next and the customer gets his live tracking while he is approaching the delivery address. As every customer is eager to receive their delivery in time, they can then hold the delivery boy accountable for the delivery which helps you in faster, accurate, and more delivery per day. A lot of times delivery boys would just not deliver the package and put an excuse for the same. This can alleviate the same process as well.
For example, in many housing townships also the delivery guys are not allowed to enter the society and the delivery boy has to reach the main gate, give the customer a call and then the customer takes another ten minutes to reach the gate. If the customer gets the live tracking of the delivery boy approaching the destination, the customer can already climb down the building and reach the main gate at the same time as the delivery boy reaches the address.
Similarly, in TIer II & III cities, it is very difficult for the agents to find the exact addresses. This process will enable the customer to take an initiative on their own behalf to complete the delivery process.
Another suggestion would be that, the Alexa device can turn into a color say 'Green' when the delivery agent is in the vicinity.
I have been a part of e-commerce. And nothing feels as worse as the delivery rate dropping down. This can be tried and tested in a particular region and then further expanded to the rest of the country (ies). I am sure this will be really beneficial both for Amazon and its customers.
It would be great if Amazon acknowledges my suggestion or find it to be of any help.
