Hello, my app was recently rejected, and the reason given was:
"Your app solicits customers for reviews of your app in exchange for user rewards or bonuses."
My app offers small monthly prizes but they are in no way connected to or in exchange for ratings or reviews. I opened a ticket using the Contact Us form to clarify this and ask either for further details about the reason for rejection, or that the app be reconsidered. The response I received was simply a re-statement of the reason previously given for rejection:
"Your app solicits customers for reviews of your app in exchange for user rewards or bonuses. Please update your app to comply with our customer reviews policy and resubmit your app for reconsideration."
Hoping this was an anomaly, I wrote back again, stating as clearly as I could that the app does not in any way solicit reviews in exchange for rewards or bonuses, and asking for more detailed information about what has led to that conclusion so I can address it.
Astoundingly, the reply I got was just another repeat of the same thing:
"We are contacting you regarding the app that you submitted for sale through the Amazon Mobile App Distribution Program. In reviewing your app, we determined that your your app solicits customers for reviews of your app in exchange for user rewards or bonuses. Please update your app to comply with our customer reviews policy and resubmit your app for reconsideration."
The Contact Us support form has been entirely unhelpful in this matter, twice ignoring my clarifications and requests for more detail, and just repeating the initial reason for rejection word-for-word.
In most of those cases, the responses posted have either said, "As this issue is specific to your account, please file a contact us here where we will be able to assist further," or "Please review our content policy guidelines for more information: https://developer.amazon.com/docs/policy-center/understanding-content-policy.html". However, the contact form has proved unhelpful (as described above) and the relevant content policy (https://developer.amazon.com/docs/policy-center/listing-promo.html#ratings-reviews-and-installs) simply restates that rewards cannot be offered in exchange for reviews.
Is there any way to contact a human being for support, who would be able to evaluate whether the original reason for rejection actually applies to the app and if they decide it does, would be able to provide more detailed information about what led to this conclusion and what changes could be made to address it?
