We provide streaming audio services to radio stations. Our customers are reporting to us that they experience intermittent episodes during which Alexa does not recognize a request to play a specific radio station that a TuneIn skill exists for.For example, sometimes the phrase “play 98.5” will begin playback of radio station CHMP-FM 98.5 in Montreal, however on other occasions Alexa will return “98.5 is not available on TuneIn”.This issue has been recurring for several months with a number of our radio stations. Previously we had suspected a network resource issue as the cause because of the error messages we had seen, and updated resources.Currently one of our customers is again reporting this issue however we are not experiencing any resource constraints or receiving error messages. Can you suggest circumstances that may cause commands to become temporarily unavailable and what we can do to resolve this issue on behalf of our customers?
Is there any system-wide timeout setting after which if no response from the server, the connection gets terminated by Alexa?
What is the preferred/easiest way to figure out what is exactly happening when requesting to listen a certain radio station? How do we know what exact stream URL is going to start playing?
Does the system have any preference between ICY and HLS or it doesn’t matter? Can it play both of them without issues?
Is there any way to connect Echo/Echo Dot to a computer and debug skills?
