Looking for assistance on what exactly is needed in regards integrating Google Play Services into a mobile app that will use Amazon Mobile Ads and be deployed to the Google Play store.
This page https://developer.amazon.com/docs/mobile-ads/mb-quick-start.html#add-the-google-play-services-sdk-to-your-app states “ad-serving apps distributed through Google Play must comply with the Google Play Services Advertising Identifier conditions” and “Google Play must follow … Integrate the Google Play Services SDK into the app by following the Google Play Services SDK Setup Instructions.”
That Google page provides limited details on this.
Some specific questions:
- Is there a specific Google Play API bundle (e.g. play-services-ads) that must be include in the app’s build.gradle?
- When one added play-services-ads, then the app crashes upon launch as Google expects one to have a Google AdMob ID (https://googlemobileadssdk.page.link/admob-android-update-manifest ) which I do not as I am using Amazon ads and not googles. I assume one does not need a Google AdMob ID to only server ads via the Amazon API, right?
- What steps are needed besides the Amazon specific items outlined in https://developer.amazon.com/docs/mobile-ads/mb-quick-start.html to ensure ads work properly for an app to be deployed to Google Play store?
