Hello, I love the parent controls on the amazon freetime app and the kids' kindles. It allows me to give my kids an electronic device that they obsess over, but at the same time give me some peace of mind that they aren't accessing content they shouldn't be. One issue I have however is that the kids will sit through their entire allotted time at once and complain about not having enough time. My older daughter (6) has actually been very good and learnt to "save" her app time for later in the day. However the younger one (3) uses up her time and then begs to add more.
Here is my feature request: Please allow a continuous use timer that automatically pauses the device after a specified time of continuous use and then has a timer to resume device. It would be great if both of these timers can be adjustable.
For example the kindle pauses after 30 minutes of consecutive use and pauses for 30 minutes (so kids can go do something else and still have screen time for later if they want). I know this might seem like micromanaging, but especially for younger kids who haven't developed the self regulation skills yet, this would be an effective tool. I find the kids don't argue when the screen automatically changes to pause mode or night mode, but will argue if I simply ask them to turn it off.
