I'm currently developing an idea which encounters the problem, that I want to activate an Alexa skill by a service like IFTTT. When creating a new IFTTT Applet, you only get the chance to have this applet activated by alexa, but not the other way around.
I've done some research on how I could handle that problem but am stuck at 2 questions:
1) Is there a way to activate a skill other then by voice or routines? (f.e. HTTP?)
2) Is it possible to bypass that problem by creating a new Gadget (in this case IFTTT over a bluetooth connection of my mobile phone to Echo) which activates the Alexa skill?
I would like to Alexa play an alarm tone and read out a sms from a certain number (or a edited version of it) and control some lightning / smart home stuff.
Fire fighters get an alarm sms in addition to the pager message here, which I would like to use to trigger a scene so I (/ the user) can react faster to an alarm.
