Spanish support in my Echo Dot 2nd generation

Hi Devs,

Now that Alexa is available in Spanish I decided to give a new try to the 2nd echo dot which was a company gift.

Therefore, I installed again the Alexa app in IOS and tried to change the language to Spanish. As a surprise, Spanish was not available but it was in Deutch, English (US, Canada, India, Australia/New Zealand, UK) and French (France).

I contacted the Alexa support and confirm my region was set properly to Spain, but that I could not switch it Spanish as the device wasn't acquire in Spain.

How can this be possible? An Alexa device should work in any language regardless where you buy it. What would happen if I move to UK but I'm a Spanish and want to speak in Spanish with my Alexa echo device.

I got the following from support:

Support: I would like to inform you that, Spanish is available on these devices only:

1. Echo Plus 1st Gen
2. Echo Plus 2nd Gen
3. Echo Spot
4. Echo Dot 3rd Gen

As your device is Echo Dot (2nd gen), I am afraid Spanish isn't available on this device.

Me: can you point me to a website with that information?

Support: Sure, just a moment. Thanks for waiting. I just had a word with my team and see that, this is the internal information that we have received from our resources and the same information would be available on help pages too in some time.

Same problem. Amazon currently does not allow Spanish option in my echo dot 2nd generation. This is very sad indeed and very disapointed. I did not expect this from Amazon. When google home introduced Spanish that became a valid option for all devices. I refuse to spend more money on more amazon devices just because they restrict access on current device. I am now switching to Google home mini as the hardware will have a longer live.

does not happen with Google Home. Damn Amazon, you were just right... but this... :(

I have Echo Plus 1st Gen and i cannot select Spanish......

I have an echo plus 2nd gen, but I'm able to change the language to Spain... I don't know why, i tried many ways and nothing happened
