How Configure alexa to confirm numeric slots input as digits instead of thousands and hundreds ?

I have created a zip code slot that takes american zip code as an input. The problem I am facing is when alexa re-confirms the slot instead of reading it as digits (like for 62999 it should say six-two-nine-nine-nine) it says sixty two thousand and nine..... Although I need the slot input in numeric form but i want alexa to read it out as digits. I have tried changing the slot type to Number, FourDigitNumber, and PhoneNumber etc but no luck. I also went through SSML tags but I am not reconfirming through code (like emit(<say-as> 62999 )), its all being done through setting slot as required from skill website. Can anyone please help ?

This has nothing to do with slots. You can whichever works best for you. To spell the number, use ssml. You have to use say-as tag, with interprate option as 'digits':

<say-as interpret-as="digits">62999</say-as>

In this case, alexa will spell each number individually.

RokasV - Thanks for the reply. Where should I put this code If I have use Slot Confirmation phrases from Skill Website ? When that intent is invoked, I manipulate the slot inputs and returns a final string (containing some different information) through following code:

You have to grab the value from the slot that user provided, build your response string ant put it into speak() function. F.e.

const speechText = `Is your zip code <say-as interpret-as="digits">${handlerInput.requestEnvelope.request.intent.slots.yourSlotName.value} </say-as>?`

return responseBuilder.speak(speechText)
