For months (over a year in fact) or audiobook app, which manages and plays the audiobooks that our customers purchase from us, has no appeared in the Amazon App Store on Kindle Fire devices. It shows up in the app store when searching in a browser, but not on the devices.
I reached out to Amazon App support using the Contact Us link, but hat has proven to be useless since you cannot reply to those messages, so I'm turning to the forum for help.
Below is an exact quote from my Contact Us inquiry about this. As you can see, it would appear the review team does not realize that we're a retailer, not an author trying to CREATE an audiobook. In the last couple sentences of their reply they're trying to say that our "content" would be better suited for "publication" on their eBook or Audible stores, and that we should submit our content to the Audiobook Creation Exchange (ACX). Ok... first off, Audible is our competitor, so I sincerely hope this isn't an attempt to monopolize the Fire devices by blocking competitors, and secondly, the ACX site is for CREATION of audiobooks; our content is already in audiobook format - no need for ACX. We simply want to provide our valued customers the tool (our app) they need to organize, manage and play the audiobooks they purchased.
Here is the email reply from Amazon support:
"We consider a variety of factors as we evaluate each app, including the customer experience offered on the device and compatibility with the device. While our goal is to offer a broad and compelling assortment of apps to Amazon customers, not all apps available through Amazon Appstore are currently available on Amazon devices. We believe your content is better suited for publication on our eBooks/Audible stores. Please submit your content at Audiobook Creation Exchange (ACX) and/or Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP)"
I would really like some input from anyone here who has been through a similar challenge and overcome it. This is the second attempt I've made to get this rectified and have been met with the same sort of reply. I really am getting the distinct feeling that Amazon is intentionally blocking our app due to the competitive nature of our business (as a side note, I can also not find a couple of our other competitors when searching the Amazon App store on a Fire device).
