Feature Request: Feedback on Reason for Buyers' returns

Merch Returns: In order to determine whether the "reason" for return of a Tshirt by Customer is due to issues within our control (in which case we could modify the design or price) or not (i.e. sizing, colors, etc.) it would be helpful to provide data based on buyer feedback to us.

Yes! I put up a similar request.

To add to this: if the return is design related, we pay. If it is on the shirt/timing/delivery, Amazon pays.

Only fair.

And that is exactly the reason why they will never fulfill that request. I’d be willing to bet over 90% of returns are sizing issues.

If a customer is to return a shirt order through the Merch by Amazon program the customer must select one of the following options to process the return:

Too small

Too large

Style not as expected

Bought wrong size, style or color

Inaccurate website description

Product and shipping box both damaged

Wrong item was sent

Item defective or doesn’t work

Received extra item I didn’t buy (no refund needed)

Better price available Item arrived too late

Bought by mistake

No longer needed

Can this information be provided to us on the Merch by Amazon seller platform so that we can assess if the return is a result of the design and/or design product listing? These are the only parts of the process we have the ability to correct and I would like that opportunity if this is the reason for returns.

Buyer feedback would be a great feature to have in helping sellers assess the reason for returns, to assess if it's design related or not. Some issues are within the seller's control to correct while others are not.

If you want an informal look, go check out your reviews.

You’ll find that the VAST majority of bad reviews are sizing issues, in particular “Shirt was much too small”- this is an issue that should be addressed, really should have been addressed LONG ago.

The other problem I see quite a bit is two-sided shirts being sent out without one side being printed. I’ve stopped making two-sided designs because of it.

These are quality control issues over which we have no control. It’s also the reason Merch won’t volunteer these metrics - they just want to charge these issues back to us, no questions asked.

Hi Mike - I agree with you that sizing seems to be the top issue. A quick glance at reviews indicates running small, even when ordering up a size, is a prevalent negative review. Anvil ran small but not as much as Port. They are weirdly small. I'm hoping we get rid of Port and use a different brand.

I did visit my reviews for my frequent selling shirts and fully agree with you that for customers returning the shirts,.size is the main issue. Some are saying that shirts are small while some have even said they are "TINY". Some of them are returning with a request for a bigger size while others are just returning, period. These bad reviews (with no fault of the content creator) are causing the ranking to go down and decreasing sales. It is in everybody's best interest that sizing issue is resolved at the earliest. Standard sizes being sent to the customers by other successful PODs are assuring their customer satisfaction. Alternatives should be evaluated at the earliest to provide the STANDARD right shirt sizes (at least at par with the practice in the marketplace) to our customers. This should be our Primary objective. Revision in costing, pricing, or royalty, if any is, secondary. If possible, I request that the issue is resolved before we enter the year-end sales season.
