Hello, I have submitted four apps to the app store. Three of the four show up when I search on
Amazon.com and also show up when I access the Store from a Kindle device. The fourth app shows up on
Amazon.com, but it does not show up in the Appstore when searched from a Kindle device. I have used the App Testing Service and it finds no errors: "Test Successfully Completed. We did not find any of the common issues that can prevent an app from being published to the Amazon Appstore" The fourth app was, in part, developed using a Kindle HD 2nd Gen and tested on a 1st Gen Kindle fire. It works perfectly. The fourth app was developed in a fashion similar to the three apps which appear in the Appstore. According to the App Testing Service results, he fourth app runs and looks correct on the Fire phone. What could possibly be the problem that prevents it from appearing in the Appstore? I would like the app to be available for Kindle devices. Barry.
Hi, I also have the same problem. Our app has been approved but does not show in the App Store for Kindle Fire. I received. Message similar to this from Amazon Support but it seemed a somewhat canned response which did not provide any details as to why the app was not available.
Hi Barry, This is something that cannot really be address via a Forum post. I would suggest that you resubmit the app for testing, and in the 'testing notes' section of the binary tab explain how your app differs from a book. Doing this will ensure that a human actually takes a look and gives you a fair result.
Hello, Thanks for the reply. The app contains a database with about 500 text titles – this is nothing that anyone would read. Thinking this is something that could be published is a huge mistake. I think the error is that there must be some automated "checker" that sees text and thinks "oh no, book". This is not true at all. The app should probably be looked at by a human. I think it will be immediately approved. Barry.
Hi Barry, We review each app individually for Kindle Fire Tablets. We consider a variety of factors as we evaluate each app, including the quality of experience the app offers on Kindle Fire Tablets and compatibility with the device. While our goal is to offer a broad and compelling assortment to Kindle Fire Tablet customers, not all apps available through Amazon Apps are currently available on Kindle Fire Tablets. We noticed that your app contains a significant amount of digital text. We would like you to know that: With Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) you can self-publish your books on the Amazon Kindle Store.
