IAP Testing on Fire TV - cannot find IAP SDK Tester v1.0.4+
Hi, I am trying to do IAP testing on a Fire TV app - but cannot find an IAP SDK Tester .apk with a package version of 1.0.4 or above. Version 1.0.4 or above is required according to the Fire TV platform specification here:
https://developer.amazon.com/public/solutions/devices/fire-tv/docs/device-and-platform-specifications I have tried the IAP SDK Tester with package version 1.0.0 included in the latest standard mobile SDK, but get stuck on the "Purchase" popups that describe the IAP, as the buttons do not respond to controller input. Could support please point me towards to where to download the correct version or the IAP Tester apk or suggest what could be going wrong? Thanks!
I am currently having some issues with the IAP SDK Tester that I am wondering if anyone else is having. I am using Unity. When I attempt to make a purchase, if I hold down the button in my app the Tester window opens, but immediately selects purchase and disappears before you can even read the pop up window. In a related issue, sometimes upon returning from the Tester window after a successful purchase the selection button will return true for GetKey(joystickbutton0) until it is pressed again. These issues do not occur 100% of the time. Maybe 60-70%. But it appears that when launching and closing the Tester Unity is not able to reset input. I have attempted to fix this by adding Input.ResetAxes() just about everywhere I can related to IAP. I have it before attempting the purchase, when the application loses focus, when the application regains focus, when a successful purchase is reported, etc. I even have it set to loop Input.ResetAxes() for a half of a second before allowing any more input after a purchase. But still the buttons do not always reset. It is possible that I may have made some mistakes while coding my menu controls, but I feel like there may be some larger issue here either with Unity or with the Tester
Not yet, since we have already posted above that there is currently a limitation where the SDK Tester only works with the Amazon Fire TV Remote and not with the Amazon Fire Game Controller.[b] Both controllers can be used for purchases in the live environment.
