We are looking to set up multiple Alexa Show devices in a business environment for internal calling and communication. The main issue we have run in to is that in order to activate the calling and video chat features, activation through a text message is required. While we have plenty of available phone numbers and direct lines in our business we could use, they are not capable of receiving text messages so we cannot use them to activate the calling features on our Echo Shows. Is there any workaround for this?
We attempted to use Google Voice, which worked, but requires a private cellular number in order to claim a Google Voice number. We are looking for a way to use either our internal phone system or an affordable service where we can get digital numbers that can receive text messages.
