Implementation of Game Circle
Posted: Aug 6, 2012 7:40 AM

Hello all,

Can some body provide me some more information about implementation of Game Circle. I read GameCircle-Developer-Guide.pdf in the sdk folder and did all the steps, but I still have "CANNOT_AUTHORIZE" when initializing "AmazonGamesClient".
I can not find any other documentation in internet.

Best Regards.

Here's a list of things to check:
1) Test on a Kindle Fire device. Amazon GameCircle features are only available on Kindle Fire devices.
2) Make sure the device is signed in with an Amazon account? GameCircle uses the account that the device is signed in with to authenticate the player.
3) Make sure the device has been updated to the latest version of the Fire OS. To do this, go to the top menu, tap More, tap Device, click the Update your Kindle button if it is enabled.
4) Make sure you're using the latest version of the GameCircle API. The current version is 1.2.1.
5) Make sure that the keytool command you used to get the signature returned a valid result. To do this, run the first part of the command line separately:
keytool -exportcert -alias androiddebugkey -keystore
[path to your keystore file]

This command should return a very long string that represents your certificate. If the path to your keystone is wrong, it will return an error message. After this you get valid results from this command, then run the full command line to get the signature:

keytool -exportcert -alias androiddebugkey -keystore
[path to your keystore file] | openssl sha1 -binary | openssl base64

This will return your signature string. Please check that this is the string that you have registered in the GameCircle Portal.

Please let us know if any of these ideas resolves your problem. Thanks.

Dear mdinkov,

I want to ask where did you find the "GameCircle-Developer-Guide.pdf" ? Sorry, my question doesn't connected to yours, but I can't find any code or sample of Game Circle implementation. Thanks in advance :)

Hi Heghine,

Once you have registered your game, go to the "SDK" tab and select "Amazon GameCircle" from the list to download the API. You will get all Game Circle related documents in the SDK you downloaded.

Hi guys, Im following this tutorial to get started:
https://developer.amazon.com/sdk/gamecircle/documentation/gamecircle-setup.html

I have completed every step, but I get this error:

09-25 16:23:21.898: E/GC_AmazonGamesClient(15624): Failed to enable softkey button: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.amazon.ags.app.util.SoftkeyBarWrapper

Followed by a "Cannot Authorize" exception, any thoughts ??

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I'm also looking for GameCircle-Developer-Guide.pdf and I can't find it at any place and inside de Apps-SDK there's no useful information at all.

Where can I find this document and some example code that helps me to implement Game Circle?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Gergonzalez, you can get Game Circle developer guide and FAQ pdf documents once you registered and downloaded "GameCircle.zip" file. You will get those documents in the documentation folder of the sdk zip file.

Hi Samuel,
I cannot find the GameCircle-Developer-Guide.pdf or GameCircle.zip file anywhere. I can only download the AmazonSDK which includes .jar files for both GameCircle and in-app purchases but there is no pdf help documentation which can guide me on integrating GameCircle in my app. Please could you give a direct link to GameCircle.zip or GameCircle-Developer-Guide.pdf because whenever I follow the steps mentioned above I get the AmazonSDK. Thanks

There are two folders GameCircle and InAppPurchasing. Both of these have their own documentation folders but they only have the API reference files.

Hi mdinkov, I have searched everywhere but I cannot find the GameCircle-Developer-Guide.pdf file anywhere and I'm stuck on a problem. I would really appreciate it if you could somehow share the file with me. My email address is ibrahim@tintash.com. If it is possible, please email it to me. Thanks
